Self – Adhered Base Systems
The two-ply Firestone Self-Adhered (SA) Base System combines Firestone Building Products BASEGARD™ SA Base Sheet with either a torch-applied APP cap sheet or a torch-applied or hot-mopped SBS cap sheet directly over the base sheet. The system’s design flexibility allows specifiers to select the cap sheet and application method best suited to job conditions and local installation practices.
During application of the cap sheet, the fiberglass-reinforced base sheet serves as an effective work platform, and as a thermal barrier. The base sheet fully fuses to the substrate from the heat of the torch or mop, assuring that the system works as a fully-bonded waterproofing layer.
